Who is John Edney?
I'm a Melbourne marriage celebrant, wedding DJ, MC and event host based in Plenty. I've worked weddings and events since 2005 and became a registered marriage celebrant in 2019.
What makes you different from other celebrants?
I didn't add these services together to build income streams. I do all three because I love all three, and because it's the service I'd want for my own day. Read more on the celebrant page.
What style of ceremony do you write?
Fun and personal, never rigid. Sincere when it matters, chaotic when it counts. I write it from our chats, your questionnaires and the vibe you give me.
Do you only do traditional weddings?
Not at all. Tradition is great and there's a place for it, but take a risk, trust your instinct and have the wedding you want. I'm your safety net. Every couple is welcome, including same-sex weddings.
Are you insured?
Yes. I hold professional indemnity insurance up to $20 million and public liability insurance up to $30 million.
