Melbourne wedding DJ

Real mixing, not stop and start. A dance floor that runs late.

A wedding DJ who reads the room

Pop, house and RnB are my home turf, but there's a place for everything.

I've been DJing weddings and events in Melbourne since 2005. I mix live, I watch the floor, and I change direction the moment it tells me to. That's the difference between a playlist and a party.

You give me 10 songs I must play, 10 you'd love to hear and anything that's off limits. I take care of the rest, and it's the part you're hiring a DJ for.

Want the ceremony covered too? I'm also a registered Melbourne marriage celebrant, so your music can start with your aisle walk and finish with the last song.

Gear, lighting and backups

Professional speakers, premium lighting and wireless microphones, with backups for all of it in the car at every event. Lighting is included, not an extra.

Got a sax player, guitarist or violinist joining in? I'll plug them straight in. Everything scales up or down to suit your room.

The break glass plan

Every now and then a dance floor needs a nudge.

Before your day we agree on a plan for exactly that moment. It might be a game, bringing the bouquet toss forward, or a photo dash where you race table to table for quick group shots. Within a few minutes the whole room is up and laughing.

★★★★★

We cannot recommend John highly enough. Having him as our celebrant, MC and DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our Wedding!!

As the MC, he kept the night running smoothly, and as a DJ he absolutely delivered. The dance floor was pumping all night and the music was amazing!!!!

Melbourne wedding DJ questions

Quick answers. Anything else, just ask.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Melbourne?

My wedding DJ packages start from $2,350, including premium lighting and backup gear. A discount applies when you add MC or celebrant services. Read the full cost guide.

What music do you play?

Pop, house and RnB are my home turf, but there's a place for everything. I mix live and change direction the moment the dance floor tells me to.

Can we choose our songs?

Yes. Give me 10 must plays, 10 you'd love to hear and anything off limits, then leave the rest to me.

Is lighting included?

Yes. Premium lighting is included unless your event needs external production.

Do you bring backup equipment?

Always. I carry backups for audio, PA, music and lighting at every event, and I have options if the power drops out.

Can live musicians play with you?

Yes. Sax, guitar, violin and more can plug straight into my system.

How early do you arrive to set up?

At least two hours before when I'm your DJ. If your venue runs as a restaurant before the changeover, I'll arrange help to set up.

Do you DJ outside Melbourne?

Yes. I regularly work the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula, plus Australia wide and international.

Is your date still free?

Tell me a little about your plans and I'll come back to you with availability and my info pack. Rather talk? Call 0407 877 232.
